Never underestimate the power of Focus Groups

If you've never heard of the term "Focus Group", it basically means sharing your thoughts, ideas, brand and products with a group of people who you believe represent your target audience.

The truth is, if you've ever asked people for their opinions, you've carried out some basic focus group activities without even knowing it.

That being said, the difference between asking a friend for their thoughts compared to identifying your target audience, and working closely with a group of them to uncover meaningful insights are two completely different things. Although, asking a friend is a good place to start... it allows you to understand the basics of your project and prepares you for more detailed sessions with your focus group later on!

Working with focus groups is a core part of what we do to gauge the effectiveness of our own products and new ideas. We're currently half way through an eight week focus group session for a new venture (eyes peeled, info coming soon!).
